Broadway Market

If London is an identity then surely by extension, its markets are its personalities. My recent encounter with Broadway revealed a vibrant facet of London. Truth be told, I have yet to explore all of the markets but Broadway has lodged itself in my heart, displacing the renowned Borough. Broadway's concept is a serving platter of lifestyles-based stores ranging from delicacies to Japanese art & crafts to household decorations. My focus, as always, is on the street food; an elegant lavender cupcake and homemade authentic ravioli left an indelible impression.

More often than not, the surrounding shops do not enjoy the same spotlight but my take from Broadway suggests otherwise. My personal favourite is a little bookstore at the end of the market. Identifiable by an overflow of customers, there is a much literacy feed for those who seek. One of my steals was actually a Cereal travel guide for London.

Now assuming you have little time but a greater love for 'hidden gems', skip touristy Borough and head straight to Broadway.

Visual Vomit: London Calling

London, I love you.

Went on a weekend getaway to London and boy was it eye opening. Instead of the usual oxford circus and carnaby street itinerary(not that we didn't casually drop by oxford), we decided to go further and deeper in search for hidden gems. And it was worth it, despite getting blistered feet and aching legs due to my poorly made decision to wear heeled boots. You know it's true when I leave London without a single piece of new fabric, yet still grinning idiotically.

Graduate Fashion Week

London post again! This time, Graduate Fashion Week. Courtesy of whatiwear.com, I was invited to GFW in London a few days ago and I must say that it was a pretty exciting experience. The show featured a variety of student works and designs from all over the UK showcasing their unlimited creativity. In return I had to snap some street styles for wiw which was another whole new experience especially since I can be quite shy when it comes to approaching strangers. Nevertheless, we met some rather friendly and nice fashionistas and of course, many thanks to my dear friend #badgirlruru ;)
